Our Story

First Step Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to expanding financial opportunity for people seeking a fresh start. Formed by experienced financial services professionals and community leaders with lived experience, we believe real change happens when practical knowledge, trust, compassion, and support come together. Through free financial and business education, individualized counseling, and peer mentoring, we help people build confidence and capability.

Our work centers on improving access to affordable financial services and credit-building opportunities that are often out of reach. We partner closely with mission-aligned organizations and public agencies to meet people where they are, reduce barriers to participation, and ensure our programs reach those who can benefit most. Together, we focus on practical steps that help people move forward — financially, personally, and within their communities.

You've done your time. You deserve more than just a fighting chance.
