First Step Alliance helps individuals impacted by the justice system work toward financial stability and create new opportunities. Through financial education, access to affordable banking, credit counseling, peer mentoring, and entrepreneurship training, we provide practical tools and support to help people move forward with confidence.
Fresh Start Programs
Financial Education & Credit Counseling
Practical financial education, online learning, group workshops, and one-on-one credit counseling help participants strengthen money management skills, address credit challenges, and make informed financial decisions.
Banking Support
Information and resources to help participants explore affordable banking providers, including credit unions, mobile banking apps, and other low-or-no-cost second chance programs. Participants learn how to compare options and choose solutions that best fit their needs.
Entrepreneurship Training
Participants develop business skills, explore entrepreneurial opportunities, and learn how to create a business plan, turning ideas into actionable steps toward economic independence.
Working Together to Expand Opportunity
Community organizations and agencies play a critical role in connecting justice-involved individuals with resources and opportunities. Through close partnerships, First Step Alliance brings our Fresh Start programs to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals in many states.
